Johnny G. Wilson Memorial Award

The Johnny G. Wilson Memorial Award is presented to an individual from an Accredited Agency who has devoted a significant part of his/her life to the advocacy of professional qualifications through the accreditation and certification processes; and who has exemplified Mr. Wilson’s dedication, professionalism, and enthusiasm for certifying fire service personnel at the local, state, national, or international level.

Chief V. Kenneth Elmore Memorial Award

The Chief V. Kenneth Elmore Memorial Award is presented to an accredited agency which has demonstrated outstanding success in promoting professional qualifications for fire and emergency service personnel for as many of its constituency as possible. The organization given this award should exemplify the dedication to certification promotion exhibited by Chief Elmore while maintaining the highest principles of professionalism.

Previous Recipients: Maryland Fire Rescue, Wyoming Department of Fire prevention and Electrical Safety, Saudi ARAMCO Fire Protection Department, Alabama Fire College, Texas Emergency Services Training Institute at Texas A&M University, SABIC Emergency Response Academy, Bucks County Community College, Ecole nationale des pompiers du Quebec, Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council, and the United States Department of Defense Fire and Emergency Services Certification Program

Chief Jim Estepp Scholarship Award

As the result of a very generous bequest, the Chief Jim Estepp Scholarship Award has been established in Chairman Estepp’s honor to enhance the mission of the Pro Board through educational endeavors. The award will fund two persons attendance to the Pro Board Accreditation Conference, one each from two different Accredited Agencies. These persons will be in addition to the complementary conference attendance for one person from each Accredited Agency. The nominated persons should be staff members that fulfill administrative support roles that have responsibilities for Certification Testing and a direct impact on the success of the Accredited Agency. Nominations are due by November 1 each year.
